Blood test complete now I wait.
So this morning I sat waiting for my blood test reading a somewhat old ‘Woman’s Day’ magazine dated March 2002. I was most certainly the youngest person there. I don’t like needles so when you get sent off for a blood test you hope that someone somewhere has come up with a really small one.
This was the first time I’d had a blood sample taken outside of a hospital. It was a weird feeling. The doctor came in wheeling a tray full of medical gadgets. He asked me a number of questions and looked at my food chart I was asked to fill out. My blood pressure was taken by his assistant, recorded and then I was asked to look away while he stabbed me with a needle.
“There we go, that wasn’t hard was it”
It didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would. The whole experience was quite routine. The body does strange things when blood is taken from it. Like mine for instance, as I was walking though the waiting room it decided I didn’t need to do so and the brain said fuck you. I woke up looking up at a doctor feeling like a bit of a dick in front of everyone in the waiting room. They fed me some cookies and orange juice and sent me on my way.
I was probably silly to drive there, but now that I had coming back was going to be interesting.
Now I wait!
