If you happen to be in Palmerston North on the weekends and don’t mind getting up early you should head along to one of their markets.

Saturday morning you’ll find the market on the corner of Church Street and Albert Street in the Liquorking car park.

It’s open from first light to 11am so if you get up too late you will miss out of the bargains and really affordable fresh fruit.

Compared to the Otara market in Manukau City it’s tiny but you’ll still defiantly get that community market feel about it.

Some of the stalls open as early as 4am so to get the best fresh fish, Paua fritters and vegetables you might just want to get out of bed before your alarm goes off.
The markets are both weather dependent as they are open and have little to no shelter if it starts to rain.  So be brave and chances are you won’t melt.

Sunday’s market is much of the same and runs from 6am-3pm in the car park of Awapuni Hotel.  Access the car park from the Rugby Street Entrance.
