Movie Review: District 9

There was a lot of hype for Peter Jackson’s latest blockbuster and the movie did not disappoint. 27 Years ago an alien ship entered the earth’s atmosphere and stopped over Johannesburg, South Africa. District 9 is government refugee camp set up to house the apparently leaderless aliens from the ship. The area quickly becomes a slum and the visitors turn into the 2nd class trash. Now the organisation responsible for the welfare of the aliens wants to evict them and move them to a new camp.
I absolutely loved this movie. The stunning artistry and makeup makes you soon forget this is a sci-fi masterpiece and you’ll find yourself cheering on the side of the aliens. District 9 is a great action / sci-fi / drama which I highly recommend.
