Kaikoura, New Zealand.

4 July 2009 129 views No Comment

Kaikoura is widely known as the whale watching capital of New Zealand. Unfortunately they didn’t want to be watched today!

After Matt finished taking photos of me for my website we headed into town via the sea front. If youre a helicopter fan Kaikoura helicopters can take you up for a scenic flight along with some whale watching.

Today the sea breeze was somewhat on the strong side for flying. Form the railway over bridge all the way down the main street Kaikoura is lined with cafes and restaurants that will defiantly have crayfish on the menu.

In english Kaikoura can be broken into Kai meaning food and koura meaning crayfish.

After lunch we headed back south towards Christchurch doing a little train spotting on the way.

The main trunk line follows state highway one as it weaves around the coast.
