Hunua Falls, New Zealand.

The falls are located close to the small township of Hunua. If you’re travelling by car from Papakura you can turn left into White Road and then hang a right into Falls Road. This will take you all the way to the falls car park area.
Jayson and I arrived just after a spell of heavy rain. Auckland’s weather wasn’t exactly putting on a good show for us. The falls however did. I’ve always come down here to see a small trickle but today it actually impressed me.
The spray from the falls could be felt anywhere around the picnic area. Even when walking down across the bridge and down the track to the other side we could feel the spray. At least it was fresh water.
Local weather was still playing up and between the spray and the drizzle we stood sucking in the magnificence of water flowing over a rock face.
Eventually the weather got the best of us and we retreated like most city kids would back to the warmth of the car.
The Hunua Falls are an awesome place to visit with the family. There are heaps of walking tracks that suit anyone from athletes to grandparents.
